Staying Focus 101

Staying focus at the tables, don’t’ let your ego overshadow what you haven’t done yet, don’t start counting your chips until you’ve left, and for those that like to shit talk, keep it on the minimal, cuz shit talking can cost you, letting your opponent know that you are better then them, may cause them to push back, find a new way to beat you, don’t be the target, you are the hunter set your traps, keep low, don’t be loud, and that’s not just what comes out of your mouth, its that ESQ watch you got on, its that white gold chain you got, its that poker swagger you show. Rounders said it best, “you can shave a sheep many times, but only skin it once” .. be the shark that looks the friendless .. “fishes can smell danger”..

Distractions are a bitch, what can I say,
Things that frustrate you can all be found on a table of 9 random strangers trying to take each other’s paycheck.. you have 9 different personalities and for fuck sakes!!.. people will irritate you, the way they talk, the way they talk about there own god dam life, the way they whine, they way they take fucking forever to act, the way they talk shit about being the best fucking online poker player in the world and you are thinking why the fuck you playin 1-2 if you have 20gs’.. and the way there ugly fat ass girlfriend is sitting next to them playing Nintendo ds while your in a $400 pot and all you can hear is that stupid dumbass supermario theme, its times like these that staying focus becomes the most vital discipline in being a pro..

Staying Focus includes Self-Discipline ..
Someone I respected in Toronto once told me “if you can’t stop playing table games completely, you will never be a PRO” ..
